About Us

NAEN is a non-profit association composed of undergraduate and master's students of Naval Architecture and Ocean Engineering at Instituto Superior Técnico, Lisbon, which aims to promote the dissemination of Naval Engineering. Our goal is to provide members and supporters with opportunities to improve their curriculum/training professional, and the creation of leisure activities in the area, namely cultural visits, conferences, workshops, regattas and convivial dinners. We also intend to facilitate a better connection and communication between students and professionals of the Naval Industry.

It was founded in 2012 by a group of Naval Engineering students from IST that felt there was a lack of an organization to create a bridge between the student and the professional environment, to organize extra-curricular activities for Naval Engineering students and anyone interested in the area, to share information about this area of studies in Portugal and abroad and also to act as a intermediary for communication between Maritime and Naval Engineering students all around the world.
